DESCRIPTION:May 31st 2025  \n\n\n\nTime: 12:30 – 17:00  \n\n\n\nWhere: Meet at Ede-Wageningen station  \n\n\n\nFree\, Aktief Slip members only  \n\n\n\n🌍 Excursion to the BIGGEST EARTHSHIP HOUSING COMPOUND IN EUROPE🏡 Organized by Aktief Slip’s EducaCie \n\n\n\nEver wondered what it takes to build a neighborhood that’s entirely self-sufficient\, community-driven\, and Earthship-inspired? Join us for a guided tour of Vereniging Aardehuis\, an ecological neighborhood where sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s a way of life. As is written on their website: \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n“1 construction concept  \n\n\n\n10 years from construction to realization  \n\n\n\n23 families  \n\n\n\n35 children and 40 adults  \n\n\n\n2000 volunteers from  \n\n\n\n27 countries  \n\n\n\n100\,000 working hours  \n\n\n\n€5\,500\,000 in investments and  \n\n\n\n1 place where it all comes together.” \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nOn this excursion\, a group of 20 students will explore the Aardehuis village through a 1.5-hour guided tour focused on the 🏗️hands-on construction of the Earthship-inspired houses 🏘! \n\n\n\nWe will also have the opportunity to learn and ask about: \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n☀️ Strategic solar design & salt battery systems  \n\n\n\n💧 Groundwater filtration & drinking water pumps  \n\n\n\n👫 And the community-building process behind it all \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAfter the tour\, we’ll head back to the cozy common house for some coffee/tea and chill time with a tasty surprise waiting.
